Digital x-rays are a crucial diagnostic tool that helps us identify any potential issues in your mouth, more specifically the teeth, roots, and alveolar bone. CEREC ScannerCEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a dental technology that allows for the creation of dental restorations. We use a CEREC scanner for procedures such as crowns and bridges, occlusal guards, and retainers. The benefit of the scanner vs conventional impressions is that it is faster, less messy and more accurate. VELscopeAt Artistic Dental, we use award-winning VELscope® technology to screen for oral cancer. VELscope is a non-invasive, light-based detection technique for tissue abnormalities in the mouth that may be unnoticeable to the naked eye. A VELscope exam allows us to visualize abnormal tissue, cancer, pre-cancers earlier than can be detected by the naked eye. As with any other cancer, early detection of oral cancer is key.
