Navigating dental insurance is one of the most common concerns patients have before scheduling an appointment. Dental Insurance Plans We Accept
Artistic Dental proudly serves patients from Jackson Township, Lakewood, Howell, Toms River, and the surrounding Ocean County communities. To make care as accessible as possible for families and individuals throughout the region, we accept most major PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) dental insurance plans. Whether you are coming in for a routine cleaning, a cosmetic procedure, or a comprehensive restorative treatment, we will work to help you maximize the benefits available to you.

Please note that Artistic Dental does not participate with DMO or DHMO plans. If your plan falls under one of those categories, you are still welcome to visit our office, but your DMO or DHMO benefits will not apply. Making the Most of Your Coverage
How We Handle Out-of-Network Insurance
For patients whose PPO plan lists Artistic Dental as an out-of-network provider, the good news is that most PPO plans still provide meaningful benefits when you see a dentist outside of their preferred network. Most PPO plans cover out-of-network dentists, so you can still use your coverage at our office even if we are not listed as an in-network provider with your specific plan.
When you come in, our team will file claims on your behalf and provide you with an estimated patient responsibility before treatment begins. We believe in transparent communication about costs from the start. It is important to understand that insurance estimates are just that, estimates, and your actual benefits will be determined by your specific plan. Any balance not covered by your insurance remains the patient’s responsibility.
We also accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) as forms of payment, giving patients additional flexibility in how they manage their dental expenses. Our dedicated team members are available to walk you through your insurance benefits, help interpret plan details, and answer any questions you have before or after your visit.
What to Know About Delta Dental
One important note for patients who carry Delta Dental coverage: Artistic Dental is not currently in-network with Delta Dental. However, depending on the specific Delta Dental plan you hold, out-of-network benefits may still be available to you. Please contact your Delta Dental plan directly to understand what your plan covers for out-of-network visits. Our front office team is happy to assist with filing claims on your behalf.

Do you accept my insurance plan?
We accept most major PPO dental insurance plans, including Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, United Healthcare, United Concordia, Guardian, Horizon, and select TRICARE plans. We do not participate with DMO or DHMO plans. If you are unsure whether we accept your plan, we recommend calling our office before your appointment so we can verify your benefits and give you a clear picture of your coverage before you arrive.
What if my insurance plan considers you out of network?
Even if our office is considered out of network by your PPO plan, you can still receive care here and use your insurance benefits. We will file claims on your behalf, provide you with a cost estimate prior to treatment, and work with you to help maximize whatever benefits your plan makes available. Our financial policy outlines that estimated insurance benefits are not a guarantee of payment, and any unpaid balance becomes the patient’s responsibility, but we make every effort to keep you informed throughout the process.
What payment options are available if insurance does not cover everything?
For patients whose insurance does not cover the full cost of treatment, Artistic Dental offers a number of flexible options. We accept CareCredit and Cherry financing for qualifying patients, and we also offer in-house payment arrangements for specialty cases. HSA and FSA funds are accepted as well. For patients without insurance or those who have exhausted their annual benefits, our Healthy Smiles Savings Plan provides an affordable alternative that includes two cleanings per year, oral exams, routine x-rays, and up to 25% off most other treatments.
